Suggested Contribution

As a charity, we rely on your continued financial support to keep our activities running, our venues booked and our leaders are paid. Rather than charge a fixed fee for membership, we operate a progressive model, where people contribute according to what they are able and willing to pay.

We ask you to contribute according to your ability using a progressive income based model (please see table of suggested contribution amounts). We will never ask you to declare your income to us or question you regarding your financial status. We only ask you to be honest and as generous as you can. Donations above and beyond those recommended are of course very welcome.

In addition to this, families who have a child enrolled in our B’nei Mitzvah programme will pay either £210 annually or £70/term extra for the duration of the course.

These contributions include Jewish Joint Burial Society membership, £60 /year per member, £5/month.

More and more Jewish people say they have a need for community that is not being met by existing institutions. They want to connect with other people and Judaism but not in the context of traditional synagogues. Many new parents and young families are also experiencing isolation and need support networks. Masorti Judaism is committed to exploring innovative models for Jewish community and engagement, connecting people via Jewish learning, social action, culture as well as new approaches to spirituality. The Havurah meets these needs by bringing families together to create community. It enables parents to co-create relevant activities for themselves and their children. It allows people to express and learn about their identity and heritage. And it creates a space for parents to support each other and talk about the challenges they face in their family life.
